Homemade Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup


  • 1 Cup fresh mushrooms finely chopped
  • 1/4 Cup butter
  • 2/3 Cup milk
  • 1 1/4 Cup vegetable broth
  • 1/3 Cup all purpose flour
  • 1 Teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 Teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 Teaspoon pepper


  1. Melt butter in a skillet over medium-low heat. Add mushrooms and cook until tender. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Add the garlic and for 2 minutes.
  3. Stir in the flour and cook for an additional 2 minutes. Whisk in the milk and chicken broth until smooth.
  4. Bring to a boil and allow to boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat, and allow to cook for a few minutes before transferring to a jar to store in the refrigerator.
  5. Or, allow to cool slightly and use right away in your favorite dish.
